Bill Fort

Bill Fort is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in hardware engineering and product development, currently serving as the Director of Engineering Hardware at Boston Dynamics, where responsibilities include leading the Hardware Engineering team for the Spot robot. Previously, Bill held key positions including Director of Engineering, Robotic Hardware at Berkshire Grey, where a significant hardware team was expanded, and multiple robotic sorting systems were developed. Bill's career features progressive roles in mechanical engineering at companies such as Superpedestrian, MarkForged, and iRobot, alongside foundational positions at Stoneridge Electronics and Bell Helicopter. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
