Nickolas Demas

Nickolas Demas is a highly experienced mechanical engineer currently serving as Technical Team Lead and Advanced Mechanical Engineer at Boston Dynamics since January 2020. Demas has been the Principal at Demas Consulting, LLC since September 2011, focusing on designing and prototyping electro-mechanical products. As a co-founder of Swift-Strap LLC, Demas has invented mechanisms for enhanced strap tightening. Prior academic roles at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology included Research Affiliate and Postdoctoral Researcher, where advanced acoustic measurement techniques for gas detection were explored. Demas holds a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and a Bachelor's degree from Yale University.
