Yi Dong

Yi Dong is a seasoned professional in machine learning and perception systems, currently serving as a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Boston Dynamics since March 2021. Previously, Yi held the position of Perception and Sensing Group Lead at Aurora Flight Sciences Corporation, overseeing the development of perception systems for urban air mobility and automated aerial vehicles. Yi's career also includes a role as a Vision Scientist at Vision Systems, Inc., contributing to projects involving 3D scene modeling, image registration, and natural language processing. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. and multiple master’s degrees in Engineering and Applied Mathematics from Brown University, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the University of Science and Technology of China. Additionally, Yi has experience as a Research Assistant and a Visiting Scholar, focusing on the modeling of strengthening mechanisms in metal alloys.
