Russell Main

Russell Main is an experienced engineering professional currently serving as a Senior Rig Engineer at bp since June 2022. Previously, Russell held the position of Rig Manager at ARO Drilling, managing offshore rigs for Saudi Aramco with complete P&L responsibility. As Maintenance Manager at Borr Drilling, Russell contributed to the development of asset management systems and led integration efforts during M&A activities. Prior roles include Technical Superintendent at Ocean Rig, where Russell managed a drillship and improved maintenance performance, and Rig Asset Manager at Ensco plc, overseeing drillship operations and financial planning. Russell's education includes an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, a PgDip in Project Management from Robert Gordon University, and a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, alongside ongoing studies for an MSc in Data Engineering at Edinburgh Napier University.
