Brazilian Nickel
Mark Travers is an experienced executive currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Brazilian Nickel since May 2023. Previously, Mark held the position of President of the Board of Commissioners at PT Vale Indonesia from August 2019 to January 2022. Mark's extensive background at Vale encompasses various roles, including Executive Vice President of Base Metals, where responsibilities included managing the Base Metals business and overseeing global transformation initiatives. Mark also held multiple senior legal roles, including Executive Vice President of Legal and Sustainability, where efforts focused on compliance, governance, and community sustainability. Earlier in Mark's career, positions included General Counsel at Inco Ltd. and Vale from 2001 to 2008 and Senior Associate at Smith Lyons, specializing in corporate and securities law. Mark holds a Joint Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws Degree from York University's Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts with honors in History from Western University.
