Leah Smart is a legal intern at the Brennan Center for Justice, contributing to legal and policy analysis, legislative drafting, and administrative advocacy aimed at promoting a fair judiciary and protecting voter rights. Previous experience includes serving as a fundraising associate at VoteAmerica, where Leah organized events to enhance voter turnout during the COVID-19 pandemic, and as a community relations intern at the Social Innovation + Change Initiative at Harvard Kennedy School, focusing on community engagement. Leah also held the position of lead finance intern at the Democratic Party of Virginia, coordinating fundraising activities, and worked as a corporate social responsibility intern with the Charlotte Hornets, where Leah researched community engagement strategies. Leah is pursuing a Doctor of Law degree at New York University School of Law and holds a Bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
