Emmanuel Gallo is a highly experienced professional in the fields of applied science and software engineering, currently serving as the Director of Perception R&D at Bright Machines since November 2020. Prior to this role, Emmanuel held various positions at Autodesk Reality Capture, including Senior Principal Software Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed maintaining and enhancing photogrammetry technology and developing next-generation solutions. With a strong background in computer vision, Emmanuel has contributed significantly to projects such as the structure from motion engine and mesh reconstruction engine. Previous experiences include work at Realviz on image-based modeling software, and roles at Inria and CNRS focusing on computer audio and graphics algorithms, as well as seafloor image classification. Emmanuel holds a PhD in Computer Science from Université Côte d'Azur.
