Karl Grieves has extensive work experience in the finance and insurance industry. Karl held various positions at different companies throughout their career.
Starting in 1985, they worked as a Senior Accountant at KPMG UK until 1989. Karl then joined Price Waterhouse as a Management Consultant from 1989 to 1990.
From 1990 to 1995, Grieves worked at Standard Commercial Corporation as an Operational Reviewer. Karl then moved to Sedgwick - Whitechapel Corporate Services, where they served as the Financial Controller & Company Secretary from 1995 to 1997.
Next, Grieves joined Aon, a captive insurance management company, as the Finance Director from 1997 to 2003. Afterward, they worked at Conister Trust PLc as the Head of Finance & Company Secretary from 2004 to 2008.
From 2008 to 2013, Grieves held the position of Managing Director at ANV Syndicate Management Limited (formerly Flagstone) - Lloyd's of London, where they also served as the Deputy Group Chief Operating Officer, a member of the Group Management Committee, and the Director of Flagstone Réassurance Suisse SA.
Lastly, Grieves joined Brit Insurance in 2013. Karl held several roles, including Head of Office & Finance Director at Brit Insurance (Gibraltar) PCC Limited from 2013 to 2017, Finance and Operations Director at Brit Reinsurance (Bermuda) Limited from 2017 to 2023, Finance and Operations Director Sussex - ILS from 2018 to 2023, and currently serves as the Head of Bermudian Finance Operations.
Karl Grieves holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Leeds, which they obtained in 1984. Karl then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath from 1984 to 1985. In 1989, they completed a program at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. Karl also possesses a certification from the Royal Aeronautical Society, known as MRAeS.
