Emme Handy

Emme Handy currently serves as Chief Financial Officer at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard since May 2021 and has previously held roles including Interim Chief Financial Officer and Senior Advisor to the COO at the same institution. Prior to this, Emme served as Chief Financial Officer and Collector-Treasurer for the City of Boston from January 2018 to May 2021 and held multiple positions at the Broad Institute between 2015 and 2017, focusing on financial planning and budgets. Emme's extensive experience includes a significant tenure with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2015, where responsibilities included overseeing a $37 billion annual operating budget and managing fiscal policy for various critical sectors. Emme's early career involved roles such as Legislative Intern in the United States Congress Office of Bernard Sanders and Development Policy Intern at the European Parliament. Emme earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northeastern University.
