Randy MacEwen

Randy MacEwen currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Brookfield Renewable since November 2021. Previously, Randy held the position of President & CEO at Ballard Power Systems from 2014 until July 2025, where efforts focused on advancing zero-emission fuel cell electric vehicles through the prominent PEM fuel cell technology. Prior to this role, Randy was the Managing Director of NextCleanTech LLC, a private cleantech consulting firm from 2010 to 2014. Randy's experience also includes serving as President & CEO of Solar Integrated, a leading provider of commercial rooftop solar projects from 2005 to 2010, and as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Stuart Energy Systems Corporation, which specialized in hydrogen solutions until its acquisition by Hydrogenics in 2005. Earlier in the career, Randy worked as a Corporate Associate at Torys LLP, specializing in corporate law. Randy holds an LLB in Law from Western University and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Political Science from York University.
