Ellen Schatz

Ellen Schatz is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in advancement, education, and nonprofit leadership. Currently serving as a Major Gift Officer at Brown University since November 2019, Ellen co-created the Brown University Advancement Anti-Racism Training Program, developing a curriculum and training facilitators to foster discussions on systemic oppression. Previous roles include Director of School and Corporate Partnerships at the San Francisco Education Fund, where Ellen significantly expanded volunteer engagement and corporate partnerships benefitting public schools. As Chief Operating Officer at edMatch, Ellen focused on generating financial support for San Francisco public schools through community partnerships. Ellen's early career included editorial work at John Wiley & Sons, managing a Psychology program, and involvement in outreach for environmental advocacy. Ellen holds a BA in Political Science from The Johns Hopkins University and an MLIS from San José State University.
