Mark Carney

Mark Carney serves as the Director of Advancement Information Services at Brown University since August 2019. Previously, Carney held key positions including EVP Technology and Product Delivery at Nelnet Campus Commerce, where responsibilities included facilitating a significant technology transition, and SVP Technology at Cognition Financial, overseeing IT services and system operations with a focus on uptime and cloud migration. Carney also contributed to the Town of Westport as a School Committee Member and Finance Committee Member, focusing on educational improvements and budget oversight. Prior to these roles, Carney served in various capacities at Tuition Management Systems, including Executive Vice President, where efforts were centered on integrating IT processes with Agile methodologies. Carney's early career includes leadership at New Technology Solutions as Director of Technical Services. Carney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
