Tim Fater

Tim Fater, CPA, currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Financial Strategy and Planning at Brown University, a position held since November 2019. In this role, Tim is responsible for leading financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes while working closely with the CFO and the Office of the Provost to align financial strategies with the university's mission. Previously, Tim held the Assistant Vice President position at Brown University, as well as the Assistant Dean for Finance at the Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where responsibilities included overseeing financial management and strategic planning. Tim's career also includes roles as Controller at SEAS and Senior Staff Accountant at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Tim commenced the professional journey at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate after obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Fairfield University and a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island.
