Georg Zachmann

Georg Zachmann is a highly experienced professional in energy and climate policy, currently serving as the Scientific Lead for the Green Deal Ukraїna at Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin since June 2023. As a Senior Fellow at Bruegel since 2009, contributions to energy and climate policy have been extensive, alongside previous roles as a Research Fellow. Georg Zachmann led the 'Low Carbon Ukraine' IKI project at Berlin Economics from 2018 to August 2021, successfully managing a team to enhance Ukraine's climate ambitions and establish energy modeling capabilities. Additional experience includes positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher at GIS LARSEN, Desk Officer at the German Federal Ministry of Finance, and various roles at DIW Berlin. Georg Zachmann earned a Doctor's Degree from Technische Universität Dresden and furthered education at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
