Lori A. Perine

Lori A. Perine serves as a Special Assistant for Data and Artificial Intelligence at the Maryland Insurance Agency, where responsibilities include managing AI and data analytics projects for the state's insurance regulatory oversight. In addition to this role, Perine is a Research Fellow at the University of Maryland's College of Information, co-investigating AI through the HERITAGE–AI project. Perine also holds positions as a Member of the Board of Trustees at Bryn Mawr College and Managing Principal at InterpreTech Services, providing executive management consultancy. At Montgomery College, Perine is an Associate Professor of Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science, having previously served as an Adjunct Lecturer. A former Research Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Perine contributed to significant AI bias management initiatives and risk frameworks. Perine's educational background includes a Master's degree in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, an A.B. magna cum laude in Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College, and doctoral studies in Social Systems Sciences at The Wharton School.
