Build It Green
Karen Kho is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in sustainable development and environmental policy. Currently serving as the Board President of Build It Green since January 2016, Karen leads strategic initiatives to promote regenerative neighborhood development and oversees the organization’s programmatic activities as Board Secretary and Programs Committee Chair. Since 2003, Karen has been a Principal Program Manager at StopWaste, where responsibilities include managing built environment programs and mentoring staff in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement. Previous roles include co-founding Friends of Gaviotas, directing the Sustainable Cities Program at Urban Ecology, and serving in various capacities at the USDA and the US Department of Transportation. Karen holds a Master's degree in Urban Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor's degree in Development Studies and City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
