Brad Halsey is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in engineering, training, and crisis response. As the CEO and Founder of Building Momentum since December 2014, Brad has developed a program that integrates advanced training in problem solving, leadership, and various technologies, including welding and programming. Additionally, Brad founded and serves as Chairman of the Board for Athena Response, a non-profit dedicated to crisis response and workforce development, particularly for underserved communities. Prior to these roles, Brad held positions at Exponent Failure Analysis Associates and SRI International, managing complex engineering projects and working with various defense organizations. Brad's early career includes service as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, where responsibilities included combat systems and electronic warfare. Brad holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University.

Through event and competition-centric projects teams rapidly develop tech solutions to challenging problems while learning new skills and gaining confidence that will assist them in their careers. Building Momentum also runs and operates The Garden, a premier event space in Alexandria.
