Nalinkant A. Rathod has served as the Company’s Commissioner since 2001. He had 25 years of career with Bakrie Group Indonesia in various capacities and held various senior positions. Currently he is President Commissioner of PT Kaltim Prima Coal and PT Arutmin Indonesia, both are the biggest exporters of thermal coal in Indonesia. Both mines are a joint venture (70:30) between PT Bumi Resources Tbk, Indonesia, and Tata Power Ltd., India. He was appointed CEO of Bumi Plc on January 2012 and resigned as Commissioner from of all non-coal companies operating in Bakrie Group and served in London to review the operation of Bumi plc. He resigned in August 2013 and resumed his duty in Indonesia.
Currently he is Managing Director of Capital Managers Asia Pte. Ltd, Singapore, a financial advisory company operating in Asia. He was appointed Commissioner of PT Bumi Resources Tbk, PT Bakrie Telecom Tbk, and PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk. These companies are under the Bakrie Group. He was a successful businessman in his field and a cross-cultural negotiator as well as an experienced dealmaker. He is also socially active and is currently the President of India Club, Jakarta, Indonesia, and has recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Indonesia.
He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from Andhara University, India in 1970 and Chartered Accountants of India in 1976. An Indian citizen, he was born in Rajahmundry, India on 12 May 1950.

PT Bumi Resources Tbk is an Indonesia-based holding company primarily engaged in coal mining. The Company is engaged in coal mining through its subsidiaries and associates, such as PT Kaltim Prima Coal, PT Arutmin Indonesia, PT Fajar Bumi Sakti and PT Pendopo Energi Batubara. It produces thermal coal from its coal mines that are located in several areas in Indonesia, such as Sangatta, Bengalon, Senakin, Satui, Mulia, Batulicin, Asam-asam, Kintap, Loa Ulung, Tabang, Muara Enim and Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir. Most of its coal are used as fuel for coal power plants. Besides coal mining, the Company is also engaged in other minerals mining, which is operated through PT Bumi Resources Mineral Tbk, as well as oil and gas exploration.
