Jason Steinmetz has extensive experience in emergency management and response. Jason currently serves as the Director of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Office of Emergency Management, where they provide overall direction and leadership for establishing emergency management goals and objectives. Prior to this, they worked at the U.S. Department of the Interior, where they coordinated the All-Hazards Incident Management Program and served as the Assistant Director of the Office of Emergency Management. Jason also has experience with the US Forest Service, where they held various roles including Emergency Management Specialist and Coordination Center Manager.

Jason Steinmetz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Regional Planning from Eastern Oregon University.
