Tom Powers is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience in systems administration and security. Currently serving as a Senior Security Administrator for the Bureau of Indian Affairs since January 2013, Tom has focused on maintaining and enhancing Linux environments with an emphasis on uptime and standards compliance in a new role as a Linux System Administrator. Previous roles include Sr Systems Engineer at Cricket Communications, Sr Sysadmin positions at USDA Forest Service and eBay, and various technical roles such as Solaris Sysadmin and Solaris OS Engineer. Tom's career began in IT management at Cable & Wireless, encompassing roles in global network management and security architecture. Tom holds a Computer Programming Certificate from the Computer Learning Center and a high school diploma from Bowie Sr High School.
