Observing Network Planning at Bureau of Meteorology

Karl Monnik has extensive experience in meteorological observing networks, currently working at the Bureau of Meteorology since March 2003, focusing on long-term planning for internal and external meteorological networks. Previously, Karl served as a Volunteer Staff member at Hands at Work in Africa from February to December 2019, where responsibilities included project development to connect Care Workers and vulnerable children with overseas teams. Karl also held the position of Manager Agrometeorology at ARC-ISCW from January 1990 to February 2003. Educationally, Karl holds a BSc(Agric.) in Agrometeorology and Hydrology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, earned between 1984 and 1987.
