Peter Scott is the CEO and Founder of BURN Manufacturing and Burn Design Lab, a role held since 2010. Inspired by experiences in Zaire in 1990, Peter dedicated their career to combating deforestation in Sub-Saharan Africa through the design and production of fuel-efficient cookstoves. Prior to this, Peter worked as a Biomass Energy consultant for Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH from 2002 to 2008, serving as a stove expert. Peter holds an Appropriate Technology Diploma in Stove Design from Aprovecho, obtained from 1997 to 2001, and a history degree from The University of British Columbia, where studies were completed from 1986 to 1990.
