Gemma Powell

Gemma Powell (nee Seymour) is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in project management and strategic change initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of the Strategic & Change Projects Office at Buro Happold since February 2023, Gemma previously held the position of Head of PMO at Yeo Valley Farms (Production) Ltd from November 2016 to February 2023. Prior roles include Programme Manager at Capita IT Enterprise Services, where responsibilities included managing a £1.2 million budget and leading a team of five PMs, as well as principal PMO Manager with a focus on resource management and governance. Additional experience includes roles as Operational Programme Manager at Premier Farnell and PMO Manager at Steria, where Gemma oversaw a centralised PMO function for a £100 million portfolio. Early career highlights include project management at ARCADIS UK and VT Four S, contributing to significant project deliverables and quality management systems. Gemma holds a BA Hons in Primary Education from the University of Brighton, obtained between 1996 and 2000.
