Senior Sustainability Engineer at Buro Happold

Rachel Deradoorian-Beaudoin is an experienced professional in sustainability and engineering, currently serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke University Pratt School of Engineering since August 2024, where Rachel teaches a course on Energy Transition as part of the Master’s of Engineering in Climate & Sustainability program. Concurrently, Rachel has held various roles at Buro Happold since July 2019, progressing from Graduate Engineer to Senior Sustainability Engineer. Rachel also hosts the Kairos Energy Podcast and served as a Teaching Associate at the Institute for Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern until June 2024. Notably, Rachel contributed as a Graduate Consultant at the Gas Technology Institute, working on a proposal for a green hydrogen hub. Prior experience includes roles with the American Society of Civil Engineers, Bedrock Detroit, the University of Miami, and Oakland Yard Athletics LLC. Rachel holds a Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability from Northwestern University and dual bachelor’s degrees in Architectural Engineering and French Language from the University of Miami.
