David Stearns has a diverse work background in communications and marketing. David is currently the Managing Director of Communications and Marketing at BSR, a role they took on in February 2023. Previously, they served as the Director of Communications and Marketing at BSR from October 2017 to February 2023. Prior to BSR, they were the Director of Communications at The B Team from November 2015 to October 2017. David also worked as a Vice President at Rabin Martin from January 2013 to November 2015 and at Edelman as the Vice President of Business + Social Purpose from September 2010 to December 2012. Before that, they held various roles in communications and external affairs management at GBC Health, The Marino Organization, and Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. David started their career as a Field Organizer/Media Coordinator at Amnesty International and later worked as a Senior Program Officer at the National Democratic Institute.
David Stearns received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from Michigan State University College of Communication Arts and Sciences, studying from 1985 to 1989. David then pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in International Relations and Affairs at the Elliott School of International Affairs from 1992 to 1995.
