Shannon Rivers has a solid and diverse work experience history. Shannon currently works at Business in the Community as the Head of Inclusion & Wellbeing Advisory Services, where they are responsible for ensuring the financial and operational performance of the Advisory team. They also lead the delivery of high-value programs and projects.

Previously, Shannon worked at Safe Kids Worldwide as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) and Instructor (CPSTI) where they helped over 4500 families keep their children safer in vehicles. They also worked with Safe Kids Delaware and Safe Kids Oklahoma chapters.

They also founded and served as Principal at SRC CIC, delivering strategic development and embedding Diversity & Inclusion into businesses. Additionally, Shannon worked as a Contributing Writer at the Microsoft Speakers Club, a Diversity and Inclusion Manager at Impact Culture, and a Community Manager and Diversity and Inclusion Consultant at Lucy and Yak.

In previous roles, Shannon worked as a Diversity Consultant and Owner/Operator at Reimagined:Diversity, where they provided diversity consultancy, policy development, workshops, and collaborated on campaigns for brands. They were also a Community Manager and Social Media Manager at Puzzle and GroVia, respectively, where they managed client interactions and engaged customers.

Shannon Rivers has a degree in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Diversity Studies from the University of Oklahoma. They also have a degree in Development Economics and International Development from the University of East Anglia. In addition to their education, Shannon has obtained various certifications, including Supporting LGBTQIA Inclusion In The Workplace in 2023 from the Institute of Government & Public Policy, and certifications in social media marketing and child passenger safety instruction.
