The firm was founded in 1976 as Bumi Watson (M) Sdn. Bhd. and the name change was effected in 1985 to reflect the Malaysian character and 100% Bumiputra shareholding. The firm has wide experience in all aspects of water resources development, water supply engineering and environmental pollution control, public health engineering and infrastructure development. In its pursuit of engineering excellence, BWP obtained SIRIM's MS ISO 9001 Quality System Certification and the United Kingdom's (UKAS) Accredited Certification in year 2000.
