Patrick James

Patrick James is currently a Mechanical Systems Design Engineering Intern at BWX Technologies, Inc. since May 2023. Patrick has held multiple roles at the University of Maryland, including a certified Nuclear Reactor Operator since September 2021, responsible for operating the Maryland University Training Reactor and performing routine maintenance. Previous experience includes a year-long co-op at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission where Patrick led updates for significant publications, and internships at NIST focusing on earthquake engineering data analysis, and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory researching firefighting surfactants. Prior to these roles, Patrick was a Garden Associate at The Home Depot and served as a CAD Modeler for University of Maryland Radiation Facilities. Patrick is pursuing a degree at the University of Maryland, expected to graduate in May 2024.
