Diego Riaño is a seasoned professional in the field of public administration and environmental sustainability, currently serving as Deputy Director of Air Quality at C40 Cities since February 2019. Diego has held multiple key positions within C40, including Head of C40 UrbanShift and Senior Manager of the C40 Global Platform for Sustainable Cities. Prior to this, Diego worked as Special Assistant to the CEO at the Global Environment Facility and held a significant role as Deputy Director of Subnational Public Finance at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación. Diego's earlier experience includes leadership in monitoring and evaluation strategies for eradicating extreme poverty in Colombia at the Presidencia de la República de Colombia and support for the Bogota Recycling Program. Diego earned a Master of Public Administration from New York University and holds a degree in Government and International Relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia.
