Douglas Gansler is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in government enforcement and litigation. Currently a Partner at Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP since June 2019, Gansler previously held the position of Partner at BuckleySandler LLP, leading the State Attorneys General practice group. Gansler served as President of the National Association of Attorneys General from 2012 to 2014, focusing on internet privacy and children's online safety. As Attorney General of Maryland from 1998 to 2014, significant achievements included securing over $2 billion in restitution for citizens, establishing the first Internet Privacy and Safety Unit, and driving marriage equality efforts. Earlier roles included State's Attorney for Montgomery County, where innovative programs were created for community prosecution and domestic violence, and Assistant United States Attorney, where Gansler successfully prosecuted numerous criminal cases. Gansler holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Yale University.
