Michael Buryak has a diverse work experience that spans over many years. Michael started their career in 2005 as a Research Assistant at Tel Aviv University, where they worked with Prof. Yinon Cohen and Prof. Yitzhak Haberfeld in the Department of Labor Studies. In 2006, they joined Cal (Israel Credit Cards) as a Data Scientist and Credit Risk Scorecard Modelist. Michael worked in various roles within the company, eventually becoming the Risk Analytics & Models Development Team Lead. In February 2018, Michael was promoted to the position of Head of Models Development at Risk Management in Cal.

Michael Buryak began their education at the National University of Food Technologies, where they obtained a BA degree in Management & Economics. This educational journey spanned from 1996 to 2001. Following this, they pursued further studies at Tel Aviv University, earning an MA degree in Labor Studies from 2004 to 2008. Michael then continued their academic pursuits at Tel Aviv University as a PhD candidate in Labor Studies from 2008 to 2013.
