Jenny Johnson

VP, Government Relations at Calbright College

Jennifer Johnson serves as the Vice President of Government Relations for Calbright College. She comes to the college after having served as a deputy legislative secretary for K-12 education in the Office of the Governor since 2017, first for Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr., and then for Governor Gavin Newsom. Prior to that, she was a manager of the strategic initiatives group at Apple where she was responsible for the K-12 education portfolio. She was an education programs consultant at the State Board of Education and an external affairs project manager at the Oakland Unified School District. Jennifer started her career in education policy through her participation in the Capital Fellows Program where she served as an executive fellow in the office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell. She began her academic studies at Yuba Community College graduating from San Diego State University with a major in Speech Communication and a minor in Women’s Studies. She earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
