Lorraine Lopez

Lorraine Lopez is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since December 2024. Prior to this role, Lorraine held the position of Senior Attorney at the Western Center On Law & Poverty from May 2021 to December 2024. Lorraine also served as the Supervising Staff Attorney for the Homelessness Prevention Law Project at Public Counsel from October 2019 to May 2021 and as the Supervising Attorney for the Coordinated Attorney Team at Neighborhood Legal Services from December 2017 to October 2019. Additionally, Lorraine worked as a Supervising Attorney on the Homelessness Prevention Project at the Inner City Law Center from October 2009 to December 2017. Lorraine began the legal career as a law clerk at the Eviction Defense Network from September 2007 to October 2009 and was an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Legal Aid Chicago from September 2005 to September 2007. Lorraine holds a Juris Doctor degree from Tulane University Law School (2005) and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice/Psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago (2001).
