Nelson Melgar

Nelson Melgar is a multimedia specialist and production manager at the California Institute of Integral Studies since April 2022, with extensive experience as a freelance videographer, cinematographer, and art department member since June 2010. Previously, Nelson served as a photographer at The RealReal from May 2018 to July 2021, specializing in luxury consignment apparel, and held roles as a photography production assistant and film mentor at the Latino Film Institute | Youth Cinema Project from June 2018 to June 2021. Additional experience includes working as an ENG videographer/editor for FOX Sports from January 2014 to November 2015 and for MundoFox from April 2013 to July 2015, focusing on field camerawork for news and events. Nelson holds dual B.A. degrees in Art History and the Visual Arts, Film and Video Studies, and Spanish Literary and Cultural Studies from Occidental College, where education was completed from 2006 to 2010, and attended Lick-Wilmerding High School from 2002 to 2006.
