Michael Oertel

Michael Oertel currently serves as a Senior Finance Manager at California State University, Long Beach, starting in October 2023. Previously, Michael held multiple roles at Mount Saint Mary's University, including Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and Director of Budget and Planning from November 2019 to October 2023. Prior experience includes a position as Budget Analyst at Brandman University from October 2018 to November 2019 and various roles at the University of the West from May 2012 to October 2018, culminating in the position of Chief Budget Officer/Senior Director of General Services and Institutional Research and Assessment. Michael holds an MBA in International Business from the University of the West (2010-2012) and a BA in Social Studies from Ithaca College (2003-2007).
