Kandice Grote

Kandice Grote Ph.D. serves as a Tenured Associate Professor in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University, Northridge, since August 2015, where contributions include overseeing the CADV Orange Lab and teaching various courses related to child development. Additionally, Kandice serves as the Board President of the Multicultural Learning Center, an award-winning dual immersion charter school, and is the owner and operator of Spud's Stitches. Previous experience includes roles as a teaching assistant and researcher at UC Merced, along with positions in music instruction, childcare, and research assistance. Kandice Grote earned a Ph.D. in Psychological Sciences, focusing on developmental and child psychology, from the University of California, Merced, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, complemented by minors in Education and Social and Ethnic Relations. Research interests encompass early child development, bilingualism, non-linguistic cognition, bilingual education, and cross-cultural differences.
