Vice-president For Competitiveness at Camara de Comercio de Bogota

Juan Carlos Gonzalez serves as the Vice-President for Competitiveness at the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá since 2020. Prior to this role, Juan Carlos held the position of Ambassador and Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the World Trade Organization from 2016 to 2019. Between 2007 and 2016, Juan Carlos was the Foreign Investment Vice-President at PROCOLOMBIA. Earlier in Juan Carlos's career, from 2000 to 2004, the role of Trade and Economic Attaché was fulfilled at Cancillería de Colombia. Academically, Juan Carlos holds a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Business School, a Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Washington, and a degree in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes, alongside studies in Japanese language and culture at Hokusei Gakuen University and additional education at IESE Business School and Lewis & Clark College.
