Zhichao Weng

Zhichao Weng, PhD, CEng, is a seasoned project leader and innovator currently serving as Technical Lead - Customer Project Engineer at Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd since January 2024. Previously, Weng worked as a Knowledge Transfer Research Scientist at Paragraf®, where successful leadership of an Innovate UK funded project led to multiple international commercial patents. As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Queen Mary University of London, Weng directed a significant funded project on the application of Graphene in OLEDs. Earlier experience includes teaching assistantship at Queen Mary University, where Weng provided mentorship in various scientific subjects and a summer research internship at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Weng holds a PhD in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor's degree in Microelectronics from Sichuan University. Additionally, Weng is pursuing executive education in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Imperial Business School.
