David Harney

David Harney is currently the President & COO of Europe at Canada Life. Prior to this, they were the CEO of the Irish Life Group from July 2016 to February 2020. Before that, they were the Managing Director Corporate Business at Irish Life from January 2008 to June 2016. In this role, they oversaw the provision of group life assurance, income protection, and pension products to companies in Ireland.

David Harney is an FIA qualified actuary with a MSc in Financial Mathematics from Dublin City University. David also holds an AMP from INSEAD.

David Harney reports to Paul A. Mahon, President & CEO. They are on a team with Jeremy W. Trickett - SVP & Chief Governance Officer, Dervla M. Tomlin - EVP & Chief Actuary, and Brian R. Allison - EVP & CIO.
