Heikki Heinaro has a diverse and extensive work experience in technology and leadership roles. Heikki is currently the Chief Product Officer at Canatu Oy, starting in November 2023. Prior to that, they were self-employed at Heinaro Insights Oy from June 2023 to November 2023.

At Microsoft, Heikki held various roles including General Manager of Hardware from September 2016 to May 2019. Heikki was responsible for cross-product technology and accessories development for Surface products. Heikki also served as the General Manager of Hardware Engineering and Advanced Technology from July 2015 to September 2016, and as the General Manager of Phones Technology Engineering from May 2014 to June 2015.
Heikki's earlier experience includes roles at Nokia Smart Devices, Nokia S60 Platform, Nokia Ventures Organization, and ICL. At Nokia Smart Devices, they served as the Vice President of Nokia Lumia Technology from May 2011 to April 2014, and as the Vice President of Symbian Technology from December 2010 to August 2011, among other roles.

Heikki Heinaro attended Pyhäselän lukio from 1978 to 1981. Heikki then went on to study at the University of Helsinki from 1983 to 1991, earning an MSc in Computer Science.
