Nejla Ghaboosi

Nejla Ghaboosi, PhD, is an accomplished professional specializing in applied sciences and machine learning, currently serving as a Senior Applied Scientist at Canva since June 2021, where projects include the development of multi-modal transformer-based models for text, image, and design interactions. Prior to Canva, Nejla held the position of Lead AI Researcher at EARTH AI, focusing on mineral prediction using remote sensing data, and worked as an Advanced AI Research Engineer at IR, undertaking various projects in automation and human voice processing. Nejla's academic foundation includes a PhD in Electrical & Information Engineering from the University of Sydney, complemented by a program in HMX Fundamentals at Harvard Medical School.
