Erica Waichman

As the Director of Talent and Community at Canvas, Erica focuses on cultivating talent for the Canvas portfolio while advising founders on their hiring strategies. Erica also runs the Canvas Go-to-Market Council.

Erica's background in hospitality helped nurture her passion for creating unique experiences for people. Erica transitioned into recruiting, cutting her teeth at startups of all stages, including Tesla, Airbnb, and Formation, where she helped grow the team from a four-person founding team to a global organization of over 100. Prior to joining Canvas, Erica led technical and GTM hiring at Chime, where she helped scale the company from 200 people to 1500. Joining Canvas is a natural evolution to her career after diving deep into the world of fintech at Chime and perfecting the skill of building teams from the ground up. Erica holds a BS in Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
