James Burnette

James Burnette has a diverse range of work experience. Starting in 2016, they worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Wake County Public School System until 2017. In 2017, they became an Archives Assistant at UNCG Special Collections and University Archives at Walter Clinton Jackson Library, and in 2018, they worked as a Collections Intern at the City of Raleigh Museum. During this time, they also served as an Audio Tour Project Manager for MUSE Winston-Salem, where they created an audio tour of Winston-Salem. In 2019, they worked as an Archivist at Temple Emanuel through UNCG Special Collections and Archives. From 2020 to 2021, they returned to the Wake County Public School System as a Substitute Teacher. In 2021, they joined Wegmans Food Markets as a Customer Service Desk Representative, and later that year, they became a Financial Associate 1-Defined Contributions at Fidelity Investments. In 2022, they worked as an Investment Operations Associate at Luca Partners until 2023. Currently, they are an Institutional Client Management Associate at CAPTRUST.

James Burnette earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree with a minor in Public History from East Carolina University, where they attended from 2012 to 2016. Later, from 2017 to 2019, they pursued their Master's degree in Museology/Museum Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
