Simone Kerr

Simone Kerr has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and industries. Simone started their career in 1991 at the COUNTY OF WAKE, where they worked as a Claims/Accounting Technician, handling various tasks such as preparing the annual budget and processing workers' compensation. Simone also worked in Accounts Payable, processing invoices and performing check runs.

Simone then moved on to Law Engineering in 1995 as an Accountant Analyst, where they reviewed and balanced government contracts, set up contracts in the accounting system, and handled subcontractor contracts. Simone also performed Accounts Receivable functions.

In 1997, Simone joined Union Concrete LLC as an Accounts Payable Lead, and then in 2000, they worked at Level 8 Systems as a Global Senior Accountant. In this role, they were responsible for bank transactions, including daily analysis of bank activity, processing cash reports, and managing corporate deposits and wire transfers.

Simone's next role was at Liggett Vector Brands Inc in 2002, where they served as an Accounts Payable Supervisor. Simone managed the AP division for a large tobacco manufacturer and was responsible for post-merger functions.

From 2005 to 2021, Simone worked at Waste Industries as an Accounts Payable Supervisor. Simone'sresponsibilities included approving and posting check batches, processing annual 1099s, preparing a check register for the CFO, and monitoring and reimbursing Field Fund accounts.

In 2018, Simone joined GFL Environmental Inc. as an Accounts Payable Manager, where they held the position until 2021. Simone'srole involved managing accounts payable and overseeing departmental operations.

Currently, Simone works at CAPTRUST, starting in 2022, as a Manager in Finance.

Throughout their career, Simone has gained extensive experience in finance, accounting, and accounts payable, demonstrating strong leadership skills and attention to detail.

Simone Kerr attended Percy L Julian from 1980 to 1984 but did not obtain a degree or pursue any specific field of study during that time. Later, they attended St. Augustine's College from 1984 to 1988 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
