Darnell Burgess

Darnell Burgess, JD, MHA, PMP, currently serves as Vice President and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, a position held since January 2025. Additionally, Darnell is a Guest Lecturer at the University of Washington Information School and an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Administration at West Coast University since March 2022 and January 2021, respectively. Previously, Darnell held the role of Vice President of Compliance at Centene Corporation, where responsibilities included creating and implementing the compliance program for the company’s operations in Oklahoma. Darnell's extensive background in compliance management also includes various leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente and UnitedHealth Group. Darnell's academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration from Oklahoma State University, a JD from Pacific Coast University, an MHA from Chapman University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration from California Southern University.
