Hugo Cruz

Hugo Cruz is an experienced engineering professional specializing in OBD systems and diagnostics within the automotive industry. Currently serving as a Body Controller OBD System Engineer at CARIAD since October 2022, Hugo has been involved in the development of OBD basic software for LD vehicles. Prior to that, Hugo held roles as a Diagnostics System Expert and Diagnostics System Engineer at AVL Software and Functions GmbH, focusing on LD BEV VCU diagnostics development and validation. Hugo's earlier experience at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles included positions as an OBD Powertrain Calibration Engineer and OBD Fleet Performance Engineer, managing OBD fleet testing for various Fiat and Jeep models. Hugo began the career as an intern at Jazz Engenharia Aeronáutica and Chemtech, contributing to aircraft modification certification projects and technical document preparation, respectively. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
