Dr. Michael Achtelik has diverse work experience in the medical field. Dr. Michael started their career in 1992 as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Hannover Medical School, where they worked until 1996. Dr. Michael then joined the University of Bochum, specializing in Cardiology and Internal Medicine from 1996 to 2000. Dr. Achtelik joined Medtronic in 2001 and held various positions such as Education Manager, Manager of Market Development, Regional Sales Manager, and Head of Marketing for Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management. In 2011, they moved to GE Healthcare as the Director of Cardiology. Dr. Achtelik's most recent experience is at Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, where they held the positions of Director of Sales, Managing Director, Digital Transformation Officer and Head of Digital Innovation, and is currently the Head of Global Key Accounts.
Dr. Michael Achtelik has a Certificate in the Marketing Leader Program from The Wharton School, completed in 2005. Dr. Michael also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership from Glasgow Caledonian University, earned between 2003 and 2005. Additionally, they obtained a Dr. med. degree in Medizin from RWTH Aachen University, completing their education from 1986 to 1992. Dr. Michael also briefly attended Harvard Medical School in 1991 to pursue an M.D. in Medizin.
