Tara Thachet

Tara Thachet is an I-CUREUS Student Researcher at Carleton University since October 2019, focusing on Discipline Based Educational Research (DBER) and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in Science under Dr. Martha Mullally. The research aims to enhance undergraduate Biology education through student visualization techniques in the Plant Science course. Additional roles include serving as a Teaching Assistant for NEUR3206, contributing to the Students as Partners Program with Dr. Michael Hildebrand, and conducting summer research on equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Faculty of Science. Alongside academic pursuits, Tara has worked as a Medical Assistant at Riverside South Medical Centre, managing patient care and clerical duties, and spent time as a Kaplan Student Brand Ambassador, facilitating peer support for graduate school preparation. Tara holds a Bachelor of Science in Honours Neuroscience and Mental Health from Carleton University and previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Honours Biology from the University of Ottawa.
