Darren Siegel

Darren Siegel is an accomplished software engineering professional with extensive experience across various domains. Currently serving as the Director of Software Engineering and Collaboration for the Simon Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University since December 2016, Darren leads the development of Torus, an innovative open-source courseware authoring system utilizing technologies such as Elixir, Phoenix, React, and TypeScript. Prior to this role, Darren held positions including Principal Software Engineer at General Dynamics Missions Systems, where responsibilities included architecting command and control systems, and Lead Software Engineer at Brainstage, Inc., focusing on life-science visualization.
