Gary Fedder has extensive experience in academia and industry, currently serving as the Director of the Manufacturing Futures Institute and the Howard M. Wilkoff Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University since 1994. In addition to their primary roles, Gary holds courtesy professorships in the Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Departments, and is a Professor in The Robotics Institute. Gary has also served as Vice Provost for Research and Associate Dean for Research in the College of Engineering, directing the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems. Prior to their academic career, Gary held leadership roles at ARM - Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing, including Interim Chief Executive Officer and Founding President. Gary earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley, and both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
